Discovering greater confidence
As a geography major poised for a career in natural disaster management, Sara Maholland has a bright future ahead of her, but she wasn’t always so sure of herself or her abilities. The native of Morgantown, Pennsylvania began her Penn State journey close to home at Penn State Berks. She transitioned to the much larger and more distant University Park campus in her junior year. The Student Transitional Experiences Program (STEP) gave Sara the confidence she needed to navigate the transition and expand her horizons.
